Northampton's Market Square is one of the largest in England and dates from 1235 when the selling of goods in the All Saints churchyard was stopped by King Henry III. Livestock was sold in Northampton Market Square until 1873 when a purpose-built cattle market opened.

2. Saracens Head Hotel (Towcester/Hotels in Towcester)
Located close to the Silverstone Circuit Towcester Racecourse the Saracens Head Hotel is featured in Charles Dickins' first novel The Pickwick Papers and the same atmosphere is still in evidence today.
